HAWAIIAN WELLNESS RETREAT (AUG. 3-10, 2006)
Day 1: (August 3, 2006) Arrive
at Hilo airport in early evening. Rental car will provide
transportation to oceanfront home. Evening snacks will be
available during orientation.

Stayed at this beautiful oceanview home in Kapoho on the Big Island.

Day 2: : (August 4, 2006) Morning
yoga/meditation at the tidepools followed by experiential
activity. Group will head to the Hawaii Volcanoes National
Park for the day. Group will explore the Chain of Craters
Road and hike the Thurston Lava Tube. Meals will be on own
at the park.

Day 3: (August
5, 2006) Morning yoga on the beach followed by breakfast.
Dr. Susan Gregg will conduct a 2-3 hour seminar followed by
“floats” in the geothermally heating springs in
Kapoho.
After lunch at the house, the group will:
-take a walk in the Lava Tree State Park
-swim/snorkel in Kapoho Bay
Dinner will be on own in Pahoa.

Day 4: (August
6, 2006) ) Morning yoga followed by breakfast. After breakfast,
the group will attend the Keaau Pahoa’s farmer’s
market and investigate Pahoa’s restaurants, shopping
and grocery stores.
After lunch group will:
-explore two black sand beaches, including Kehena Beach which
rests beneath a low sea cliff
Dinner will be served at the house.

Day 5: (August
7, 2006) Morning yoga will be followed by breakfast. Group
will spend a big part of the day taking a double hulled canoe
ride along the coast with Captain Kiko.
Dinner will be served at the house.

Day 6: (August 8, 2006) After breakfast, group will drive north to Captain Cook to explore the Healing Sanctuary (Place of Refuge) followed by wonderful snorkeling in Kealakelua Bay. Group will head north to Kona, snorkel in Keauhou Bay and spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Kona. At 5:30 p.m. group will enjoy a Farewell Island breeze luau.

The Hale o Keawe is a temple which houses the bones of the great-grandfather of Kamehameha I, an important chief whose mana (spiritual power) was believed to protect the entire pu'uhonua.

Day 7: (August 9, 2006) After breakfast, group will travel to Kapoha to Pohoiki Bay for lomilomi massage and lomi wai ora with Dane Silva. Afterwards the group will head into the Hilo area to explore Rainbow Falls.. The remainder of the day will be spent in the town of Hilo, attending the Farmer’s Market and investigating the town. Group will have dinner on own in Hilo.

Day 8: (August 10, 2006) After breakfast, group will spend the morning snorkeling and packing. Women will travel into Hilo in the afternoon and do any last minute shopping prior to departure at the airport.
